Media and Video Strategy

  1. A study published in the International Journal of Research in Marketing found that high-quality video content can significantly boost viewer engagement and brand recall, leading to improved marketing outcomes for businesses and increased support for political campaigns (Teixeira, Wedel, & Pieters, 2012).

  2. Research from the Harvard Business Review highlights the power of storytelling in video content, demonstrating that emotionally resonant stories can capture viewers' attention and generate a lasting impact (Deighton & Kornfeld, 2009). This principle applies to both businesses seeking to connect with their customers and politicians aiming to engage with their constituents.

  3. A study published in the Journal of Interactive Marketing found that live streaming e-commerce events, such as auctions and product showcases, can increase consumer trust and positively influence their purchase decisions (Zhang, Lu, Gupta, & Zhao, 2014). This demonstrates the potential of live video events to build trust and drive sales in a transactional context.

  4. Research conducted by Adobe found that 57% of B2B organizations consider (video) webinars to be one of the most effective content marketing strategies, with an average conversion rate of 20-40% for live events (Adobe, 2016). This highlights the value of using live video events such as webinars to generate leads and drive business growth.

  5. A report by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indicated that satellite-delivered video solutions can help bridge the digital divide in communities underserved by broadband services by offering access to essential information, education, and entertainment services  (FCC, 2018).

  6. A study published in the journal Telecommunications Policy highlighted the potential of video satellite technology to support distance learning and telemedicine services in rural areas of the United States (Strover, 2013). My expertise in satellite video communications can help you develop and deliver video-based messaging and essential services in rural and remote communities, improving access to education, healthcare, commerce, public awareness and other vital resources.

  7. A study published in the International Journal of Electronic Commerce discovered that real-time interaction and engagement in live online auctions led to increased bidding activity and higher final prices (Dewan & Hsu, 2004). This suggests that leveraging live video events in a market-related context can create a more dynamic and profitable experience for both buyers and sellers.  I provided technical services, expertise and faciilities for the first satellite delivered broadcasts of live auctions targeted to the beef cattle industry in the United States.  I am still currently engaged as an expert advisor by the same client that has provided over 35 years of innovation through video marketing of livestock (Superior Livestock Auction).

  8. A study published in the Journal of Marketing found that the strategic use of video in marketing campaigns can improve brand awareness, consumer engagement, and purchase intent (Eisend, 2018). These benefits extend to campaigns where the messaging is intended to increase public awareness and support.

  9. A report from Cisco targeted online video to account for 82% of all internet traffic in 2021 and highlights the high value of live video content which accounted for approximately 17% of all internet video traffic in 2022, a 15-fold increase from 2017 (Cisco, 2018).  Live video events, such as product launches, webinars, town hall meetings, marketing launches and live video auctions offer unique opportunities for real-time engagement and interaction with audiences, making them an essential component of a successful media strategy.

  10. A study published in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication found that the use of interactive features, such as live chat, during live streaming events can lead to increased viewer engagement and satisfaction (Stavrositu & Kim, 2014). This suggests that incorporating interactive elements into live video events can create a more engaging and satisfying experience for audiences.

  11. Research conducted by Google suggests that live video content on YouTube attracts more attention and longer viewing sessions compared to on-demand content (Google, 2015). This indicates that live video events have the potential to captivate viewers and hold their attention, providing a valuable opportunity to make a lasting impression on target audiences.

  12. According to a study published in the Journal of Marketing Communications, the quality of the video and the relevance of the content are essential factors in determining the success of live video streaming events (Bonsón & Ratkai, 2013). This highlights the importance of investing in high-quality production and tailoring your content to your audience's interests to create a successful and impactful live video event.
